Description
Perlite is used in soil mixes (including soilless mediums) to improve aeration and modify the soil substructure, keeping it loose, well-draining and defying compaction.
Perlite is made from a mined volcanic glass of the same name. As a raw material it contains water, trapped by the rapid cooling of lava. The moisture vaporizes explosively when heat is applied.
• Perlite is physically stable and retains its shape even when pressed into the soil.
• It has a neutral pH level

• It is incredibly porous and contains pockets of space inside for air
